Did you know BNL Thailand is our second manufacturing site?

Location

BNL (Thailand) Limited is our factory based in the heart of Thailand’s industrial area of Rayong. Over the last 16 years BNL (Thailand) has supported our customers in South East Asia and globally, with a high quality manufacturing service.

The industrial estate covers 3,451 acres and our neighbours include Toyota, Parker Hannifin, Great Wall Motors, BMW, Cannon, Suzuki, Ling Long Tire and Ford Mazda. The site is near to one of our major suppliers and many of our customers, creating efficiencies throughout our supply chain.

Capabilities

BNL Thailand houses injection moulding and CNC machining & lathe lines, plus manual and automated assembly functions, supported by our UK HQ-based housing R&D, engineering, product design, quality, prototyping and tooling design teams. The facility is equipped with 36 injection moulding machines, with capabilities ranging from micro-moulding to 160t. Our Thailand facility is a self-sufficient unit in moulding, assembly, and maintenance.

Quality

Product quality is ensured for our customers by continually monitoring and measuring the BNL processes which make up the BNL Thailand Quality Management System. The QMS adheres to IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and other automotive customer specific requirements. BNL Thailand holds site specific IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification, and automotive supplier approval from many automotive and global OEMs, such as thyssenkrupp, Bosch Steering, Nexteer, Yangfen Visteon, Tianma and Namyang.

BNL are always committed to consistent and excellent quality levels, and an excellent service to our customers across the globe. Quality is considered everyone’s responsibility and ensured via key personnel competency in the core tools and manufacturing experience. Within the QA Laboratory the measurement facilities mirror those in the UK, with a team of competent personnel to operate the state-of-the-art equipment. All materials used in Thailand meet the regulatory requirements of the customers’ communicated destination.

Expansion & Development

In 2019, BNL expanded from its original site on the estate, to a state-of-the-art, larger facility, adjacent to the existing building. This new facility has 4600 m2 production space plus 600m2 office space – doubling the previous factory’s capacity, enabling us to support the increasing manufacture of existing customer products in Thailand, as well as new business wins in key markets, including automotive, food processing, domestic appliances and ATM customers. To safeguard the future growth of the site, the facility also has the option for BNL to expand in to 2400m2 of additional production space. As an increasing number of our customers have moved their manufacturing and subcontracting to the Asia Pacific region, we have required additional capacity to support their production networks and improved efficiency of our supply chain.

More recently, we have developed BNL Thailand to encompass the majority of our manufacturing operations and additional customer services personnel. We believe that once the development process is complete, we will be in a stronger position to continue to offer high quality service and products, providing value-added solutions for our customers.

Efficiencies and & Sustainability

Having these services all under one roof willl allow us to maintain good supply lead-times and deliver significant benefits to our customers. We are all aware of the need to reduce our carbon footprint and work towards net zero emissions by shortening the supply chain process, reducing shipping, air freight, road transport and warehousing that vitally impact the use of carbon in a manufacturing enterprise. We facilitate bringing the stages of production closer together for our customers who have sites in the Asia-Pacific region, improving overall supply chain efficiencies.

Future

BNL Thailand is, from 2024, our main manufacturing facility, with all the accreditations expected of a world class manufacturing facility, ensuring that we continue to provide our customers with a streamlined and comprehensive global service. Moving forward our plans include increased local sourcing, improved carbon footprint, improved sustainability of the plant, increased recycling of plastic waste, greater integration of products and services, additional production and assembly, supported by purchasing, customer support and innovation teams. The facility will continue to be supported from BNL’s global centre of excellence located at our HQ in the UK.
